In spite of its “surgical” connotation, operative dentistry simply refers to certain treatments related to the prevention of oral disease and the maintenance of good oral health, including cavity treatments. Most notably, they include dental check-ups and cleanings, as well as cavity treatments.
Cavities are mainly treated with amalgam fillings, which we prefer for several reasons. Their natural colouring makes them virtually imperceptible, their durability has significantly increased over the last few years, and they have the added benefit of being mercury-free.
