Once a tooth is missing or severely damaged, it must be replaced or restored. Not only will treatment bring back a healthy smile, most importantly, it will restore proper oral function and prevent tooth displacement. This is where prosthodontics come in to rebuild natural teeth or replace missing teeth with dentures, bridges or crowns.
Complete and partial prostheses
Partial prostheses can replace one or several teeth and are attached to neighbouring teeth with small hooks. Complete prostheses (also known as “complete dentures”) are used to replace all of the natural teeth. Both types of prostheses are removable.
Crowns and bridges
A proven and esthetic restoration solution, crowns are used to cover and protect damaged teeth, whereas bridges are used to replace one or several missing teeth. Both treatments are permanently fixed in the mouth. They can be made of metal, porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal.
At the Daneault Dental Clinic, we make it a point to offer you the most recent advances in dentistry. It is for this reason that we have acquired a CEREC 3D device, which, thanks to its computer and milling chamber, enables the creation of crowns in one single visit.
