Root canal treatment, a painless procedure!

What is a root canal?

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry dedicated to the treatment of the pulp chamber, which is the inner cavity of the tooth in which the pulp, the substance containing the nerves and blood vessels, is located.
At the Centre dentaire Daneault, root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia for a painless procedure by our general dentists who practice endodontics. A root canal treatment involves removing infected or necrotic pulp from the tooth, such as in the case of a dental abscess. The goal of this procedure is to devitalize the tooth while keeping it in the mouth for its masticatory functions. It can also be used to remove healthy pulp to rebuild a badly damaged tooth with a post and crown. The treatment is painless and is usually performed in one session.
